NOTE: Failure of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) component may not cause a DTC to be stored. The Symptom Chart is a starting point to begin diagnosis of these concerns.
SYMPTOM CHART

  • TPMS  /Vehicle Security Module (VSM) will not enter sensor training mode when using the TPMS  sensor training procedure
  • Brake ON/OFF switch
  • Ignition switch
  • Vehicle communication bus
  • TPMS  /VSM 
  • Sensors not trained following tire rotation
  • TPMS  indicator ON solid from key ON with no related DTCs present
  • Spare tire currently in use
  • INSTALL the repaired road wheel/tire in place of the spare tire.
  • Air pressure not set to specifications listed on the Vehicle Certification (VC) label
  • ADJUST tires to correct air pressures. TRAIN sensors, REFER to TPMS  sensor training or drive the vehicle for at least 2 minutes over 32 km/h (20 mph) to clear the TPMS  indicator.
  • Sensors not trained following tire rotation
  • TPMS  indicator FLASHES for 70 seconds from key ON and then remains ON solid and DTC B2872 is present
  • TPMS  sensor(s) not trained to the TPMS  /VSM  or TPMS  sensors are not installed
  • Spare tire in use, road wheel missing for extended duration
  • Incorrect TPMS  sensor installed
  • TPMS  indicator FLASHES for 70 seconds from key ON and then remains ON solid and DTCs B2872 and B287A are present
  • All TPMS  sensors not trained to the TPMS  /VSM  or all TPMS  sensors are not installed
  • TPMS  /VSM 
  • TPMS  indicator FLASHES for 70 seconds from key ON and then remains ON solid and DTC U0155, U2023 or U2050 may be present
  • Vehicle communication issue between the TPMS  /VSM  and the Instrument Cluster (IC)
