Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Lock/Unlock Control - Unlock

2009 Ford Ranger 2D Pickup, 2.3 D, AutomaticSECTION Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Lock/Unlock Control - Unlock
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Ford RV Cutaway, 2008 Ford Econoline, 2008 Ford E450 Super Duty, and 2008 Ford Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The RKE feature provides lock/unlock functions independently of ignition status, vehicle speed, or transmission position. The RKE feature provides a 2-step (or stepped) process for unlocking the doors. Upon receipt of the first request for unlocking the doors, the RKE feature requests the SJB to unlock the driver door only. If another unlock request is received within 3 seconds of the first, the RKE feature requests that all doors be unlocked. The stepped unlock can be disabled, and will cause all doors to unlock on the first press of the unlock button. For additional information on enabling/disabling the two step unlock, refer to Stepped Unlock ProgrammingΒ .
