Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Transceiver
During each vehicle start sequence, the PATS transceiver reads the encoded ignition key identification code and sends data to the IC . The IC validates the code and if it is the correct code, sends a message to the PCM to ground the starter relay solenoid coil and to also allow the fuel injectors to operate. For the removal and installation of the PATS transceiver, refer to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) TRANSCEIVER .
