The high pressure fuel system test commands the PCM to increase the engine speed and fuel pressure. The test increases the fuel pressure to a maximum pressure of 170 MPa (24,650 psi) in several increments. The high pressure fuel system test monitors the amount of time the vehicle is able to maintain the requested fuel pressures. This procedure may be used to assist in diagnosing several driveability concerns. The high pressure fuel system test is located on the scan tool under the tool box tab. Select Powertrain, Fuel, Fuel System Test to access high pressure fuel system test.
