MATERIAL SPECIFICATION

- Wipe off any residual grease or contaminants from the PTU splines.
- Apply a thin, uniform coating of grease to all of the PTU spline surfaces before assembly.
- Position the power transfer unit (PTU) in place and install the 4 PTU bolts.
- Tighten to 90 N.m (66 lb-ft).
- Install the LH and RH half shafts. For additional information, refer to INSTALLATION and INSTALLATION .
- Line up the index marks made during removal.
- Install the driveshaft brace and the 2 driveshaft brace bolts.
- Tighten to 30 N.m (22 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Tighten the driveshaft flange bolts in a star-pattern to correctly seat the front driveshaft flange.
