Gearshift Cables: Removal

2007 Ford Fusion SEL, 2.3 Z, StandardSECTION Removal

  1. Remove the heater core and evaporator core housing. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle shift control lever.

  4. Disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle bracket.
    NOTE: Carefully pry the retainer on the gearshift cables. Do not damage the gearshift cable retainers.
