Oil Pump: Installation

- Clean the sealing surfaces with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Inspect the mating surfaces.
- Install the oil pump and tighten the 3 bolts in the sequence shown.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Oil PanΒ .
- Install the timing drive components. For additional information, refer to Timing Drive ComponentsΒ .
CAUTION:
Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These may cause scratches and gouges resulting in leak paths. Use a plastic scraper to clean the sealing surfaces.
