The navigation system provides internal diagnostics to assist with diagnosing vehicle concerns.

NOTE: The navigation system CD must be inserted into the audio unit before the self diagnostics can be activated.

To access the diagnostics functions the following steps must be performed:

  1. Press the soft key number 1 button (MENU).

  2. Press the soft key number 5 button (System Options).

  3. Press and hold the soft key number 1 button (MENU) and the soft key number 6 button for approximately 10 seconds.

  4. Press the soft key number 6 button (Diagnostics).

  5. Press the enter button.

The following diagnostic functions are available:

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTIONS

Function Purpose
DISPLAY Test screen integrity by displaying different bitmap/color combinations.
DISTANCE PARAMETER Allows review and setting of the distance calibration parameter.
GPS GPS Test - Test the GPS receiver and display retrieved data. GPS Init - Re-initialize the GPS and determine position from scratch.
GYRO Test function and connectivity of the gyroscope.
GYRO FACTORS View/adjust the gyroscope scaling factor.
KEY Test the bezel keyboard.
REVERSE SIGNAL Indicates if the reverse signal is active/detected.
SPEED SENSOR Verifies connection and calibration of the vehicle speed input.
VOICE & SOUND Vocalize sound bites to test the voice guidance system.
CDROM status Test the CD-ROM and inserted media.
ERASE ALL MEMORY Erase all the navigation parameter data.
CD map (rs232 out) Map media integrity and output results via the RS232 port
DEMO MODE Activate a mode in which the system simulates speed inputs.
Disable/Enable Lockout Enable/disable lockout (development units only).
ERROR LOG View history of critical system failures
Back Light View backlight control information.
Speaker Walkaround Performs the speaker walkaround test.

When to See a Mechanic
