NOTE:
A new Power Transfer Unit (PTU) intermediate shaft seal must be installed whenever the intermediate shaft or PTUΒ
is removed from the vehicle.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the PTUΒ . For additional information, refer to POWER TRANSFER UNIT (PTU)Β .
- Using the Bearing Cup Remover, the Extension from the Halfshaft Remover and a suitable slide hammer, remove and discard the deflector.
- Remove the seal using the Slide Hammer and a suitable seal puller inserted into the groove seal.
