Door Alignment - Front

2005 Ford Taurus SEL, 4D SedanSECTION Door Alignment - Front

NOTE: Make sure the rear door is within specification before making any adjustments to the front door. Refer to the Specifications.
  1. Position the front door primary weatherstrip aside.
  2. Mark the positions of the front door hinges to use as reference points.

  4. Loosen the front door hinge-to-door bolts.

  6. Adjust the front door primary weatherstrip seal gap to specifications.

  8. Tighten the front door hinge-to-door bolts to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  10. Install the primary weatherstrip seal.
  11. If necessary, adjust the door striker. For additional information, refer to Striker AdjustmentΒ .
