    NOTE:
    1. The object used in this system check can be fabricated using a 7.62 cm (3 inches) diameter pipe, 99.06 cm (39 inches) in length.
    2. The following system check should be carried out with the vehicle on a level surface.
    3. The parking aid module system defaults to on when the ignition key is cycled from the OFF position to the ON position.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, engine off.
  2. Apply the parking brake.
  3. Place the gear shift in REVERSE (R).
  4. Verify that the parking aid module detects the object above when placed in the 5 specified locations (PI, P2, P3, P4 and P5).
