The front door components consist of the following:

  • Door ajar switch
  • Door lock cylinder
  • Exterior door handle
  • Front door latch
  • Front door lock actuator
  • Front door lock push button rod
  • Interior door handle actuator cable
  • Interior door handle

The rear door components consist of the following:

  • Door ajar switch
  • Exterior door handle
  • Interior door handle actuator cable
  • Interior door handle
  • Rear door latch
  • Rear door lock actuator
  • Rear door lock button push rod

The liftgate components consist of the following:

  • Liftgate handle (part of the liftgate molding)
  • Liftgate latch
  • Liftgate molding

If the liftgate handle is damaged, a new liftgate molding must be installed.

The luggage compartment lid components consist of the following:

  • Mechanical emergency release cable and handle
  • Luggage compartment latch

Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative lock cylinder and building a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock cylinder to the current key code of the vehicle.

The remote transmitter initiates the following electronic system functions:

  • Unlock the LH front door
  • Unlock all doors
  • Lock all doors
  • Activate/deactivate the panic alarm
  • Command the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking)
  • Sound the horn once when LOCK is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and the doors are closed
  • Sound the horn twice when LOCK is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and any door is ajar

The remote transmitter has a minimum operating range of 10 m (33 ft).

The remote transmitter can be programmed using a scan tool or by using the ignition lock cylinder method.

Vehicles equipped with perimeter lighting can have this feature activated or deactivated.

NOTE: On vehicles with autolamps, the perimeter lighting feature does not activate in daylight conditions.

The following items illuminate when the unlock control on the remote transmitter is pressed:

  • Fog lamps (Montego)
  • Headlamps (Five Hundred, Freestyle)
  • Parking, rear and license plate lamps

The lamps turn off:

  • if the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position.
  • when the lock control on the remote transmitter is pressed.
  • if the vehicle is locked using the keyless entry keypad.
  • after 25 seconds have elapsed since the perimeter lighting was activated.
