WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The interior lighting system consists of the following components:

  • Smart junction box (SJB)
  • Dimmer control switch
  • Interior/map lamps
  • Cargo lamp
  • Vanity mirror lamps
  • Door ajar switches
  • Liftgate/liftgate glass ajar switches

The interior lighting system consists of 2 subsystems:

  • Interior lamps
  • Demand lamps

The interior lamps are controlled by the SJB. The interior lamp subsystem consists of the interior dome lamps, and the overhead console lamps (if equipped). The SJB controls the interior lamps by providing power and ground for the lamps.

The demand lamps subsystem consists of the front map lamps, cargo lamp, and the left and right vanity mirror lamps. The SJB controls the demand lamps by providing power to the lamps.

Both subsystems use the same power supply circuit through the SJB fuse 2 (25A) and fuse 3 (25A).
