The electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid is a variable force style (VFS) solenoid. The VFS type solenoid is an electro-hydraulic actuator combining a solenoid and a regulating valve. This solenoid provides EPC which regulates line pressure (LP) and line modulator (LM) pressure. This is controlled by producing a resisting pressure to the main regulator and line modulator circuits. The LP and LM pressures control the clutch application pressures.
