- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER - RH or VALVE COVER - LH .
- Position the piston of the cylinder being repaired at the bottom of the stroke.
- Install the special tool between the valve spring coils to prevent valve stem seal damage.
- Use the special tool to compress the valve springs and remove the cam roller followers.
WARNING:
If equipped with fire suppression system, depower the system. For important safety warnings and procedures, refer to FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
