Camshaft Roller Follower: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER - RHΒ  or VALVE COVER - LHΒ .
  3. Position the piston of the cylinder being repaired at the bottom of the stroke.
  4. Install the special tool between the valve spring coils to prevent valve stem seal damage.

  5. Use the special tool to compress the valve springs and remove the cam roller followers.
