Engine Support Insulators: Removal

2005 Ford Taurus SEL, 4D SedanSECTION Removal

Both engine support insulators 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Intake Manifold .
  3. Remove the engine cooling fan and fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
  4. Remove the retainers and the shield.

  6. Remove the 2 stud bolts and position the heater outlet tube aside.

  8. Remove the 2 transmission-to-engine bolts.

  10. Disconnect the oil fill tube from the RH valve cover.

  12. Remove the bolt and the oil fill tube.

  14. Assemble the special tools.

  16. Install the special tools.
