Thermostat Housing - SVT: Removal

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDINGΒ .
- Remove the ignition coil cover.
- Detach the retaining clips.
- Detach the coolant pipe from the retaining clip.
- Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts.
- Using the special tool, detach the coolant hose from the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat housing.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
