Accessing Output Test Mode

To access output test mode using scan tool, perform the following:

  • Perform necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspections.
  • Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  • Turn ignition on.
  • Select NEW VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL.
  • Select year, engine, model and any additional information requested by scan tool.
  • Select DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK.
  • Select PCM-POWERTRAIN CTRL MODULE.
  • Select ACTIVE COMMAND MODES.
  • Follow operating instructions from scan tool menu.
  • Select mode (i.e., HIGH SPEED FAN or LOW SPEED FAN).
  • Select menu option to turn outputs ON (may link up to PIDs).
  • Select menu option to turn outputs OFF.
