WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) system heats or cools vehicle interior depending on function and temperature selected. Function selection determines heating or cooling and air distribution. Temperature blend control setting determines air temperature. EATC components are used to:

  • Automatically determine climate control settings based on temperature selected and ambient conditions (AUTO mode).
  • Select air inlet source (outside or recirculated).
  • Select blower motor speed.
  • Select discharge air temperature (temperature blend).
  • Select discharge air location (defrost, panel, floor).
  • Select compressor clutch operation.
