WARNING: Improper handling of RCM can cause unexpected side curtain air bag deployment. Personal injury may result. Do not handle, move or change the original horizontal mounting position of the RCM with the ignition switch in the ON position. Ensure air bag system is disabled prior to beginning any repair on the RCM.
Improper RCM orientation may cause air bag system malfunction. Personal injury may result. RCM orientation is critical for proper air bag system operation. If RCM mounting and bracket have been damaged, RCM must be replaced even if air bags have not deployed. RCM center tunnel mounting area must be restored to original condition, if damaged. Replace or repair any other damaged air bag system components or wiring that are adjacent to RCM.
