DESCRIPTION
When a cylinder head is removed because of gasket leaks, check the flatness of the head gasket surface to make sure it conforms to specification using Straight Edge D83L-4201-A or equivalent and feeler gauge.
PROCEDURES
^ Check the cylinder head for flatness on the head gasket surface.
^ The cylinder head must be within 0.025/25 mm x 25 mm 0.050/150mm x 150 mm over the entire cylinder head gasket surface.
^ Replace the cylinder head if it is cracked. Do not plane or grind the head gasket surface. Remove all burrs or scratches with an oil stone.
^ Check Valve seat runout.
