Removal & Installation: Condenser: Removal
1997 Ford Mustang GT, 2D Convertible, StandardSECTION Removal
- Discharge A/C system, using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. Drain cooling system. Disconnect battery cables. Remove battery and battery tray. Remove upper radiator sight shield. Remove coolant recovery bottle.
- Disconnect radiator fan motor and position harness aside. Using appropriate spring-lock disconnect tool, disconnect refrigerant line fittings from condenser. Remove fan shroud screws. Disengage fan shroud and position it rearward. Disconnect upper radiator hose. Remove radiator support brackets and tilt radiator rearward.
- Remove screws attaching top of condenser to radiator support. Lift condenser from vehicle. Cap refrigerant lines to prevent entry of dirt and moisture.
