Brake Booster Assembly: Installation

1997 Ford Contour LX, 2.5 L, StandardSECTION Installation
  1. Position booster against firewall. Install and tighten hydraulic control unit mounting nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ . Position master cylinder onto mounting studs. Tighten master cylinder-to-booster nuts to specification. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
  2. Tighten master cylinder fittings to specification. Fill reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEMΒ . Operate brake several times. Check for leaks.
