Anti-Lock Brake System - W/Out Traction Control: Description
The Mecatronic III Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is used on vehicles with ABS only (without traction control). The 4-wheel ABS system allows the driver to stop vehicle in the shortest distance while maintaining steering control. The 4-wheel ABS system prevents wheel lock-up by modulating the brake pressure at each wheel independently during an emergency stop. System consists of a master cylinder/booster assembly, Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)/ABS control module, brake pressure control valve, brakelight switch, 4 wheel speed sensors and 2 warning lights (ABS and BRAKE).
