- Ensure all connections are clean and tight. Check for loose or damaged wires. If problem is found, repair or replace as necessary and go to next step. If connections and wires are okay, go to next step.
- Connect NGS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below instrument at right of steering column. Following manufacturer's instructions, retrieve continuous DTCs. Using the NGS tester, perform ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST . If DTC B1398 (continuous and self-test) is present, go to step 4). If DTCs B1400 (continuous and self-test) and B1475 (self-test) are present, repair short to battery in Yellow/Red wire between GEM and one-touch down relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- If DTC B1404 (continuous) is present, repair open in Tan/Light Blue wire between GEM and splice to master window switch and one-touch down relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If DTC B1410 (continuous) is present, go to step 6). If no DTCs are present, check for open in Orange/White wire between GEM and left front window motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary.
- Using NGS tester, read PID LFPWRLY. If NGS tester indicates OFF O-G, repair open in Yellow/Red wire between GEM and one-touch down relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If NGS tester does not indicates OFF O-G, go to next step.
- Using ohmmeter, check for open in Light Blue/Black wire between one-touch down relay and power window master switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, check for open coil in one-touch down relay. Replace relay as necessary. If circuit is not okay, repair open in Light Blue/Black wire between one-touch down relay and power window master switch.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Using ohmmeter, check for open in Gray wire between GEM and left front window motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, check for intermittent condition and retest. If circuit is open, repair as necessary.
