- Engine coolant and transmission fluid must be at proper levels and operating temperatures. Linkages must be adjusted properly. Hold accelerator down just long enough to get a stable tachometer reading. DO NOTΒ floor accelerator for more than 5 seconds.
- DO NOTΒ exceed maximum specified RPM for vehicle. Before shifting into each selector position, run engine in Neutral at 1000 RPM for 2 minutes to cool transmission. If engine speed exceeds specification, release accelerator immediately, as this is an indication of clutch or band slippage.
