- Blower Motor Operation
Turn ignition on. Place A/C function control switch in FLOOR position. Place blower motor switch in LO position. If blower motor operates, go to step 5). If blower motor does not operate, go to next step. - Blower Motor Switch
Slowly move blower motor switch from LO to HI position, stopping in each position. If blower motor does not operate in any position except HI, go to next step. If blower motor operates in any position except HI, go to step 4). - Ground Circuit
Check Black wire between blower motor switch resistor and ground for open circuit. If Black wire is open, repair open and retest system. If Black wire is okay, replace blower motor switch resistor. - Circuit Check
Check Orange/Black wire between blower motor and blower motor switch for open circuit. If Orange/Black wire is open, repair open and retest system. If Orange/Black wire is okay, replace blower motor switch resistor. - Blower Motor Switch
Check blower motor operation in each position several times. If blower motor does not operate in all positions without interruption, go to next step. If blower motor operates in all positions without interruption, system is operating okay at this time. - Blower Motor Switch
Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check blower motor switch continuity as indicated. See BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH TESTΒ table under HIGH BLOWER INOPERATIVEΒ . Replace switch if continuity is not as specified in all positions. If continuity is as specified in all positions, repair open Light Green/White wire or Yellow/Red wire between blower motor switch and blower motor switch resistor.
