Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor:






REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Sensing elements located in the MAF sensor should not be probed or cleaned.

NOTE: The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electronics module element and housing are calibrated as a unit and must be serviced as a complete unit.


1. Disconnect battery negative cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Disconnect air tube at sensor.
3. Disconnect wiring at sensor.
4. Remove four attaching nuts and sensor.
5. Remove gasket.
1. To install, follow removal procedures in reverse order.
