REMOVAL
CAUTION: Do not pull on the spark plug wire as it may separate from the spark plug wire connector inside the spark plug wire boot.

1. When removing spark plug wires from spark plugs, use a spark plug wire remover. Grasp and twist the spark plug wire boot back and forth on the spark plug insulator to release the connector.

2. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the ignition coil by squeezing the locking tabs and twisting while pulling upward.
3. Open spark plug wire separators and remove spark plug wire.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Proper installation of spark plug wires is critical to vehicle operation. If one spark plug wire is not properly installed on spark plug or ignition coil, both spark plugs connected to that segment of the ignition coil may not fire under load.
NOTE: When a spark plug wire is removed for any reason from a spark plug or ignition coil, or a new spark plug wire is installed, Silicone Brake Caliper Grease or Dielectric Compound must be applied to the spark plug wire boot prior to insulation.
1. Use a small, clean tool to coat the entire interior surface of the boot with Silicone Brake Caliper or Grease Dielectric Compound.
3. Install each spark plug wire to the proper terminal on the ignition coil. The terminals on the ignition coil and the spark plug wire are numbered. Make sure the spark plug wire boots are fully seated and that both spark plug wire boot locking tabs are engaged.

4. Route the spark plug wires.
5. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
