Lock Cylinder (Non-Functional): Installation

1994 Ford Taurus GL, 4D Sedan, 3.8 4SECTION Installation
  1. Install lock cylinder gear, washer, and retainer into lock cylinder bore in column housing. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position by rotating ignition switch shaft fully clockwise to START position and then releasing shaft. Install ignition switch while holding lock actuator at correct depth.
  2. Align lock cylinder gear keyway aligns with slot in ignition switch shaft. Rotate new lock cylinder to RUN position. Press lock cylinder retaining pin inward. Install lock cylinder. Ensure lock cylinder is fully seated and aligned.
  3. Rotate lock cylinder to OFF position to release retaining pin into hole in column housing. Connect wiring. Install upper and lower column shrouds. Install steering wheel. Connect negative battery cable. Check AIR BAG light for system faults.
