Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair

1994 Ford Ranger 2WD L4-140 2.3L SOHCSECTION Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Identify, then disconnect electrical connectors from Ignition Control Module (ICM) assembly by pushing down on the connector locking tabs. Tabs are marked PUSH.
2. Remove three retaining screws, then the ICM from the lower intake manifold.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The ICM mounting surface must be clean.

1. Apply a 1/32 inch coat of silicone dielectric compound to the mounting surface of the ICM.
2. Mount ICM to the intake manifold. Install screws and torque to 22-31 lb. in. (2.5-3.5 Nm).
3. Connect electrical connectors to ignition module.
