X11 - Check Pusher Fan Control Relay

1994 Ford Ranger 2WD L4-140 2.3L SOHCSECTION X11 - Check Pusher Fan Control Relay


- Key "OFF".

- Pusher Fan Control (PFC) relay disconnected.

- Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM) on 200 ohm scale.

Pusher Fan Control (PFC) Relay:






- Check PFC relay coil by measuring resistance between Pins 85 and 86 of the PFC relay (pin numbers moulded on relay). Resistance should be between 40 and 85 ohms.

- DVOM on 10,000 ohms scale.

- Check PFC relay for internal shorts by measuring resistance between Pin 85 and Pins 30 and 87 of the PFC relay. Both resistances should be greater than 10,000 ohms.

- Are all resistance checks OK?

Yes -- Go to X12. X12 - Check PFC Circuit For Short To Power

No -- Replace PFC relay. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
