Normal Operation
The center air bag and frame rail front air bag sensors each have two wires. One wire is used for air bag deployment and monitoring the sensor's connection to the air bag diagnostic monitor (See code 41 diagnosis for details). The other wire is used for monitoring the mounting (ground) of the sensor to sheet metal (see codes 44 and 45 diagnosis for details). If the code 41 diagnosis reveals that both sensors are not connected AND if the code 44 and 45 diagnosis reveals that both sensors are not properly grounded, then the air bag diagnostic monitor will flash the air bag indicator continuously at a fast rate.
Possible Causes
Rapid continuous flashing of the air bag indicator can be caused by:
1. Both the radiator support center air bag sensor and bracket and the frame rail front air bag sensor and bracket are disconnected from wiring harness or main wiring harness not connected with engine compartment wiring harness.
