WARNING:
After repairs, turn ignition on from passenger side of vehicle to avoid injury in case of accidental air bag deployment.
Turn ignition switch to ON position. INFL REST indicator light should flash 7-9 times then go off, indicating SIR system is functioning properly. Following conditions indicate SIR system is malfunctioning and requires service.
- INFL REST indicator light does not illuminate as described.
- During engine cranking, INFL REST indicator light does not remain on steady.
- After starting engine, INFL REST indicator light does not blink 7-9 times then goes out.
- After starting engine, INFL REST indicator light flashes Code 12.
