- With vehicle on level surface, operate vehicle until engine and transmission are at normal operating temperature. Apply parking brake. With engine idling, shift transmission through all gear ranges, ending in Park.WARNING: On 4WD models, ensure transfer case is in any gear range EXCEPT Neutral before checking transmission fluid level.
- Check transmission fluid level. Fluid level should be between HOT marks, or within crosshatched area on dipstick. Add fluid through filler tube as needed. DO NOT overfill.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
drive vehicle if fluid level is below bottom hole on dipstick and outside temperature is greater than 50°F (10°C).
