RPM Sensor:





PURPOSE
Used as an input in determining shift scheduling and Electronic Pressure Control (EPC).


LOCATION
Front of engine on injector pump gear housing.

OPERATION
The RPM sensor measures the speed of the injection pump drive gear and sends a corresponding signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

SYMPTOMS
Harsh engagements and shifts, late Wide Open Throttle (WOT) upshifts, abnormal or no torque converter clutch operation. May flash Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL).

14 (two digit), 211 (three digit).
