Gasoline Engines (Except Villager)
Release fuel pressure. Install fuel pressure gauge. Fuel pump may be activated by grounding fuel pump lead at Self-Test connector. Using a jumper lead, ground FP terminal with ignition on. This activates fuel pump. See Figure. For fuel pressure specifications, see FUEL PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS article. For additional circuit test information, perform related circuit test. When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
