A/C-Heater System - Manual: Description
Manual A/C-heater system is a split-case design, integral blower system. Outside air is used at all times except during MAX A/C operation. Evaporator/blower assembly is mounted on engine compartment side of firewall. Heater core with plenum chamber is mounted on passenger compartment side of firewall.
Refrigerant system incorporates a 10-cylinder compressor with clutch cycling pressure switch. Clutch cycling pressure switch is connected in series with compressor clutch. Clutch cycling pressure switch is used to prevent evaporator icing during normal system operation. Compressor will operate if ambient temperature is greater than 45Β°F (7Β°C) and mode selector is in MAX A/C, NORM A/C, DEF/FLR (MIX) or DEF position.
