Stator-To-Impeller Interference Check
1991 Ford Thunderbird LX, 5.0 TSECTION Stator-To-Impeller Interference Check
- Position front pump assembly on bench with spline end of stator shaft pointing up. Mount converter on pump so splines of one-way clutch inner race engage splines of stator support and converter hub engages pump drive gear.
- While holding pump stationary, rotate converter counterclockwise. Converter should rotate freely without interference or scraping within assembly. Should interference or a scraping condition exist, or if converter does not rotate freely, replace converter unit.
