- If the engine cannot be started, turn heater blower motor on. On vehicles with automatic temperature control, turn switch to DEFROST. On all vehicles, turn off all other accessories.
- Use cables to jump-start vehicle. If engine starts, check charging system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - BASIC PROCEDURES article in the GENERAL INFORMATION section. If engine does not start, clean and tighten connections at battery posts, starter relay, relay bracket and battery ground at engine. Check for positive short to ground. If no short is found, perform STARTER RELAY TEST.
