With key off and ECA disconnected, set DVOM to 2-k/ohm scale. Measure resistance between breakout box pins No. J43 (PIP E) and J1 (BAT +). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, PIP is shorted in harness. Check connectors, and repair or replace harness. Check for fault codes. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace ECA. Clear Continuous Memory, and check for fault codes.
