  1. Ensure engine is operating properly and is not misfiring. Disconnect negative battery cable, and remove EIC. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between pin 4C (circuit 11) and ignition coil. See Figure . Move coil wiring side-to-side to check for intermittent connection.
  2. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, replace tach/multigauge module and recheck cluster operation. If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, check wiring for open in circuit 11 (pin 4C).
