- Ensure cooling cluster operation is okay. Run engine at normal operating temperature. Stop engine. Remove temperature sender wiring connector. Measure and record temperature sender resistance. If resistance is 1200-6000 ohms, go to step 2). If resistance is not between 1200 and 6000 ohms, replace temperature sender and recheck cluster operation.
- Reconnect temperature sender wiring. Turn ignition to "RUN" or "ACC" position. Compare number of bar segments, with engine coolant temperature.TEMPERATURE GAUGE BAR SEGMENTS

If number of bar segments lit does not correspond with engine temperature, remove EIC. Measure resistance between pin 14C (circuit 397) and 11C. See Figure . Resistance should not vary more than 10 ohms from reading in step 1).
- If resistance varies more than 10 ohms, check for poor connection and/or corrosion at temperature sender or in sender wiring. If resistance does not vary more than 10 ohms from reading in step 1), replace tach/multigauge module and recheck cluster operation.
