Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Suspension - Front: Description
Front suspension is a modified MacPherson strut design. The design uses a strut damper with coil spring located between lower control arm and a spring pocket in crossmember. All models use gas-pressurized hydraulic shock struts. A front stabilizer bar is also used. See Fig 1 .
The shock struts are non-serviceable and must be replaced as an assembly. The ball joints and lower control arm pivot bushings are not serviced separately and also must be replaced as an assembly.
