- Manually move turbocharger blade shaft assembly as far in one direction as possible. Spin blade shaft by hand.
- Move blade shaft in opposite direction as far as possible, and spin blade shaft by hand.
- If neither turbine blade or compressor blade contacts any portion of their respective housings, bearings are still good.
- If either blade contacts with their respective housing, bearings are worn, and turbocharger should be replaced.
