1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering column lower cover.
2. On Tempo and Topaz models, remove eight instrument cluster finish panel retaining screws and radio knobs, then the finish panel.
3. On Escort EXP, LN7 & Lynx models, remove four cluster opening finish panel retainer screws, then the finish panel.
4. From under instrument panel, disconnect speedometer cable, then pull cluster away from instrument panel, Figs. 4 and 5.
5. Disconnect cluster electrical connector from printed circuit.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
