Temperature Control Cable (Bronco, "E" & "F" Series)

1987 Ford Econoline E250, Van Window Extended, 4.9 YSECTION Temperature Control Cable (Bronco, "E" & "F" Series)
NOTE: The temperature control cable does not normally require adjustment. Check for proper cable operation.
  1. To check operation, move control lever all the way to left position and then back to right position as far as possible. When released, lever should bounce back slightly.
  2. If lever can be moved all the way to either end of slot without bounce back, cable should be adjusted by moving cable mounting point. Remove screw attaching cable to heater case assembly. Two drill dimples can be seen on cable mounting flange.
  3. If lever did not bounce back at "HEAT" position, drill an 11/64" hole in dimple closest to heater case crank. If lever did not bounce back at "COOL" position, drill an 11/64" hole in dimple furthest from heater case crank. Install cable using newly drilled hole. Check cable operation as described in step Β 1 .
