Piston Pin Replacement: Installation
1987 Ford Cutaway 7.5 LSECTION Installation
- Apply light coat of engine oil to all parts to be assembled. Assemble piston to connecting rod with numbered side of rod toward outside of engine and notch in piston head positioned forward. See Fig 1.
- Start piston pin in piston and connecting rod. Using arbor press and pin remover/installer, press pin into piston and connecting rod until end of pin is .063-.125" (1.6-3.2 mm) below chamfer of piston pin bore.
