1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column trim shroud, then disconnect electrical connector from key warning switch.
3. Place lock cylinder at Run position.
4. Position a small drift into hole in outer edge of lock cylinder, then depress retaining pin and remove lock cylinder, Fig. 1.
5. Lubricate lock cylinder cavity, including drive gear with lubricant No. D8AZ-19587-A or equivalent, prior to lock cylinder installation.
6. To install, turn lock cylinder to RUN position, depress retaining pin and insert assembly into housing.
7. Ensure cylinder is fully seated and aligned into interlocking washer, then turn key to OFF position to extend cylinder retaining pin into cylinder housing.
8. Turn key and check for proper operation in all positions.
9. Reconnect key warning switch electrical connector, then install steering column trim shroud and reconnect battery ground cable.
