  1. If engine stalls in Self-Test, runs rough or misses, check the following: Poor power/ground connections, ignition system problem, engine internal problem (valves, cam timing, compression, etc.), EGR valve or fuel system.
  2. If shift indicator light is always on or always off, go to Test Y. If A/C does not cut off during wide open throttle operation, or is not functioning, go to TEST K - (DC MOTOR) IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC DC MOTOR)Β  . If there is high or low idle speed on start up, or engine diesels, go TEST Z - KEY POWER TESTΒ  .
  3. If gasoline fumes accumulate under hood, check fuel system and canister purge system. If there is a lack of fast idle with A/C on, go to TEST K - (DC MOTOR) IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC DC MOTOR)Β  .
